Welcome to my New Media portfolio. You will find samples of my recent work including design, interactive media, photography, and website development. My name is Lauren Parish and I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY) in March 2006 with a BS in New Media Publishing and a minor in Communications. Originally I'm from Cape Cod, MA where I worked at a website development company, CommuniCom, through my last few years of high school. Since then, I've been very interested in digital media and the integration of art and technology, which is how I became interested in RIT. I really enjoy digital photography as a hobby as well as designing in Photoshop. Through my Coop work at University of Rochester's Laboratory for Laser Energetics, I've obtained so many more skills recently in the field of website development including extensive knowledge of CSS.

With my recent employment, I've also become very interested and knowledgeable in marketing and email campaigns. Not only designing campaigns with targeted sales, but evaluating what did and did not work with certain customer bases after the fact and using those statistics to create new, more successful campaigns for the future.

I used to be a primary PC user, but recently I've opened up to Mac's and what they have to offer. I'm currently the proud owner of an Apple PowerBook and I learn more about OS X every day. I definitely consider myself to be cross-platform because as much as I'm loving my PowerBook, it's also very useful to know my way around a PC just as equally.

Outside of work, I have a passion for food and enjoy cooking and baking. I also love to do various crafts such as knitting, quilting, spinning, and cake decorating.
